The Expression of a Terroir
The 2025 vintage stands out from the very first tastings for its exceptional elegance and concentration. Each parcel yielded grapes of remarkable ripeness, giving rise to wines that are vibrant, dense, and full of promise, leaving this vintage with a distinctive Margaux signature.
The Cantenac Brown vineyard is set on gravelly hilltops composed of gravel mixed with finer clay particles, characteristic of the Margaux appellation, providing effective natural drainage and a balanced water supply. These soils promote deep root growth and a slow, even ripening of the grapes, which are essential to the finesse and aromatic expression of the wines.
Following the acquisition of the estate by the Le Lous family, extensive work has been carried out to strengthen the vineyard, with the aim of enhancing the consistency and quality of the terroirs cultivated. Several plots situated on first-rate gravelly slopes, notably on the Margaux plateau, have been gradually integrated into the vineyard. These strategic acquisitions now enrich the estate’s soil diversity while strengthening the presence of great terroirs particularly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon.
